First step towards drafting the onomantic theme

Italian version

Calculation of the Prophetic Number

The prophetic number is derived from theosophical calculations that consider the sum of one’s surname, name, degree, and cardinal number of the zodiac sign at the time of birth (see previous post). The prophetic number seems to hold significant symbolic value and has been associated with certain life events or occurrences that appear frequently throughout one’s existence. However, the author does not provide specific indications as to the nature of these events or their significance.

Calculation of the Vertex of the Horoscope

The Vertex of the Horoscope is derived from adding the prophetic number and the birth year; it represents the point of maximum elevation in the nativity chart. As such, it assumes a significant role in the subsequent drafting of the onomantic horoscope by defining the 10th House.

Breakdown of numerical data

To proceed to subsequent phases, the numerical data we have are broken down into simple numbers based on a specific criterion, as will be evident from the example. This decomposition process is integral to the use of the Rosicrucian Cycles table.

The criterion for decomposition into simple numbers may not always be apparent. While the author recommends examining his example for clarity, a better understanding can be obtained by referring to the ‘simple’ numbers in the Rosicrucian cycles.

The series comprises the individual numbers from one through nine, for the tens from 10 to 90, and the hundreds from 100 to 400; thus, all broken-down numbers must fall within this range. The numbers from one to ten are fundamental; no decomposition occurs. The starting numbers of the tens (20, 30, etc.) are not broken down, while the rest, from 11 to 99, are broken down into tens and units: 10-1, 30-4, and so on. The starting hundreds of numbers (100 to 400) should remain as they are, while the others break down into hundreds and ones or hundreds, tens, and ones (100-3, 200-30-2, etc.).

Thus far, our observations have revealed that the sum of the results obtained from carrying out decompositions of numbers always returns the initial number, except in the case of four-digit numbers, which only divide by tens and ones. This is because if a number is absent from the series of ‘simple’ numbers, it is reverted to its root. For instance, in the birth year row (1879) presented in the table below, the number 1000 is reduced to 10 and 800 to 8, and the same principle applies to all similar occurrences.

The same methodology must be used for the 21st century. For example, the year 2000 is the root 20, 2001 is 20 – 1, 2019 is 20 – 10 – 9, and so on.

Starting Arcanum

The starting Arcanum is the entry point in drafting the esoteric-onomantic horoscope and corresponds to an arcanum of the Tarot. The note is taken of the Planetary Master of the Year, already obtained from the Table of Annual Cycles, of the Planetary and Zodiac Master of the Decan and of the Decan in which the day of birth falls. With these data, you consult the table of Rosicrucian Cycles in the section corresponding to the Planetary Master of the Year until you find the combination of the Planetary and Zodiac Master of the Decan – Decan of Birth.

Orientation table

With part of the data collected so far, the next step is constructing an orientation table, which is the first phase in establishing the positioning of the elements obtained from the birth horoscope. The table provided below presents a summary of the essential data required.

This section concludes the necessary data processing for planetary and Arcana positioning in onomantic horoscopes. The following post will address the theme’s drafting, including additional calculations to incorporate other Arcana deemed crucial in defining significant life events.
